Rollover Crash in Walnut Creek Sends Car Sliding on Its Roof Toward Parked Jeep; Occupants Flee

A car rolled over and slid on its roof toward a parked Jeep at the intersection of N. California Boulevard and Cypress Street in Walnut Creek early Saturday morning, according to News24-680.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:09 a.m. on Sept. 26, waking nearby residents with the sound of impact and grinding metal, News24-680 reported.

Witnesses who went to investigate found that the car had flipped while traveling northbound on N. California Boulevard, knocked out a stretch of fencing, and then slid on its roof toward the parked Jeep before stopping just short of a full collision, according to the report.

Two people were seen climbing out of the overturned vehicle and fleeing the scene before officers arrived, News24-680 reported. Police responded to investigate.

As of the time of News24-680's report, it was not known whether the occupants of the car had been located. No information about injuries was included in the account.

The owner of the parked Jeep was not identified in the report.
