AC Transit closed multiple stops on Fremont Boulevard for construction from September 25 through October 31, 2026.

Several AC Transit bus stops along Fremont Boulevard in Fremont are closed through October 31, 2026, due to non-AC Transit construction in the area.

The closures, which took effect September 25, affect Line 231 in both directions — toward Milpitas BART and toward Fremont BART, according to an AC Transit service alert.

Stops closed toward Milpitas BART include Fremont Blvd. at Adams Ave. (Stop ID 51669) and Fremont Blvd. at Crestwood St. (Stop ID 52730), among others. Riders heading that direction can use alternative stops at Fremont Blvd. at Washington Blvd., Carol Ave., Delaware Dr., or Doane St.

Stops closed toward Fremont BART include Fremont Blvd. at Doane St. (Stop ID 51992), Crestwood St. (Stop ID 57144), Michael Ave. (Stop ID 55037), and Adams Ave. (Stop ID 53744), among others. Alternatives in that direction include stops at Fremont Blvd. at Montrose Ave., Delaware Dr., Blacow Road, Carol Ave., and Irvington Ave.

AC Transit did not specify the nature of the construction project prompting the closures, noting only that it is not an AC Transit project.

The closures are expected to remain in place through October 31. Riders on Line 231 should plan for adjusted boarding locations in the affected stretch of Fremont Boulevard, roughly between Adams Avenue and Crestwood Street.
