The San Francisco Standard reported that owners of 2000 Folsom St. sued Physical Intelligence in San Francisco Superior Court last week, alleging the robotics startup refused to leave since its lease expired last month.

Landlords seek holdover damages of more than $13,000 a day.

Sources confirmed to The San Francisco Standard that the incoming tenant is Anthropic.

Physical Intelligence signed a lease in January for about 29,000 square feet at $60,000 a month, running from February to May with a month-to-month option. In June, Physical Intelligence agreed to an amendment that nearly tripled rent to $160,000 a month for expanded footprint through September, eliminating the month-to-month option.

The complaint alleges Physical Intelligence expanded its use of the building outside the lease agreement without written consent and made physical improvements without permission.

Physical Intelligence has not responded to the complaint, according to court records.
