Los Medanos College Named 2026 Pathway Champion for Latino Student Success

According to Antioch Herald: Los Medanos College (LMC) has been named a 2026 Pathway Champion of Placement for Latino Student Success in English by the Campaign for College Opportunity. The award recognizes colleges where Latino students are completing transfer-level English at the highest rates, with a focus on closing racial equity gaps.

According to Antioch Herald: Since implementing an equity plan, LMC's transfer-level English completion rate has risen to 72% overall and for Latino students.

According to Antioch Herald: More than 45% of LMC's student population identifies as Latinx, and the college is a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution.

According to Antioch Herald: The recognition will be celebrated during a virtual event on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., during National Transfer Week.

According to Antioch Herald: This year, the Campaign for College Opportunity is recognizing 40 Pathway Champions, including California Community Colleges and CSU campuses.
