The City of San Ramon Parks and Community Services Department and consulting partner PROS Consulting are conducting the 2026 San Ramon Athletic Field Utilization Study to evaluate field inventory, seasonal scheduling, and long-term facility capacity across Central Park and the city’s neighborhood and community sports complexes.

Following a summer project kick-off and a public comment window that concluded in early October, city staff and the Parks and Community Services Commission are analyzing community survey responses, interactive field mapping, and league allocation data during the Fall–Winter 2026 study phase. Overseen by Parks and Community Services Director Henry Perezalonso, the assessment compares San Ramon’s field allocation policies against peer Bay Area municipal agencies to guide future scheduling and capital maintenance priorities.

At San Ramon Central Park, located at 12501 Alcosta Boulevard adjacent to the San Ramon Community Center and City Hall at 7000 Bollinger Canyon Road, the city maintains four natural grass baseball and multi-use athletic fields (Grass Baseball Fields #1 through #4). Across the wider municipal network, year-round synthetic turf athletic fields operate at the San Ramon Sports Park on Sherwood Way—home to the lighted synthetic turf Tiffany Roberts Soccer Field and Synthetic Baseball Field—as well as East Branch Park.

Youth and adult sports organizations reserve fields year-round through the city’s Sports Facilities Reservation program, while daily wet-weather playability and maintenance closures for Central Park, Athan Downs, Memorial Park, Rancho San Ramon Community Park, and school-site athletic fields are posted on the City of San Ramon Sports Field Conditions Portal by 3:00 PM on weekdays and 8:00 AM on weekends.
