Piedmont Fire Department Seeks Community Input on Disaster Preparedness via Survey

According to Piedmont Exedra: The Piedmont Fire Department is asking community members to complete a brief survey about disaster preparedness by Oct. 30, 2026. The survey will help evaluate the impact of preparedness work and identify gaps, as well as establish a baseline for earthquake preparedness.

According to Piedmont Exedra: According to a 2024 survey, 73% of respondents were registered for AC Alert, 22% had a current household emergency communication plan, 34% had a current two-week emergency water supply, and 27% felt confident or very confident in their knowledge of how to prepare for disasters.

According to Piedmont Exedra: Since 2024, Piedmont Fire has expanded preparedness outreach, including updating the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, increasing education about wildfire home hardening, conducting a wildfire evacuation exercise in the Blair/Scenic/Alta neighborhood, and continuing year-round outreach on emergency alerts.
