The RESET Center, a law-enforcement-led sobering facility that opened in May 2026, is operating at less than 30% capacity five months after launch, according to The San Francisco Standard. The center, located on Sixth Street in SoMa, has logged about 2,250 admissions in roughly its first five months, about 450 per month.
The center will cost about $19.4 million to operate and secure over roughly two years, The San Francisco Standard reported. Colin LeClair, CEO of Connections Health Solutions, the for-profit company contracted to run the site, projected in April that it would serve up to 2,500 people a month.
Sheriff Paul Miyamoto said the low intake at the start was intentional and 'pretty much everyone considers this so far a success,' according to The San Francisco Standard. The Sheriff's Office reports that 38% of people accept referrals to additional care, but this figure only reflects initial agreement, not whether someone follows through.
